Please feel free to link to the Anagram Engine!

A lot of visitors are kind enough to write to me and explain how the anagram engine is the best free and unlimited online anagram generator! You can offer your website visitors this great resource too by linking to it. It's easy!

If you want you can tell us you have done so - that way we'll link back to you on our friends page and you get extra visitors to your site!

There are several ways depending on your level of html skill. You can bookmark us, place a link on your page, or you can build a complete input form and make the anagram engine look more like part of your own website.

make an anagram from your toolbar from any word on any page!

if you use Internet Explorer then you can create a button on your "links" toolbar that will let your create an anagram from any phrase on any web page you visit!
just 'drag' this link-> Anagram It! to your 'links' toolbar or your favourites.
Then select some words on a webpage and click your new link!
Try it now by selecting -> how cool is that <- then clicking your Anagram It! link.

to put a link on your page...

To create a link like this: The easypeasy Anagram Engine
simply cut and paste the following code into your webpage.

dynamic link: link directly to anagram results....

if you are more expert with html, you can link directly to the results page. This means you could have a link that generates the anagrams for you directly e.g: click here for anagrams of HowToLinkToMe.
In order to do so, you need to pass some "parameters" (values) with your link; the table below explains what those parameters are.

parameter how to use it
name
this is the name that will be anagrammed. It doesn't matter if the value includes spaces or capital letters.
DICTIONARY
controls the size of dictionary. Must be one of "basic", "popular" or "full" - popular is the default.
hits
max number of results to be produced (although it may stop before this). If this is set very high, you may wait a long time for the Engine to finish. If set too low you won't get many results. A few hundred is usually a good value.
shortest
a number, that indicates the shortest allowable word. Useful range from 1 to 14.
mandatory
this is a word that all anagram results must contain (usually not required)
must
a number that indicates the minimum size of word that all anagrams must contain. E.g. if set to 4, you wouldn't get an anagram that had the longest word being size 3. Useful values are from about 1 to 8.
exclude
if this is set to the value "on", then the mandatory word is excluded, rather than included.
maxwords
the maximum number of words allowed in each anagram. If this is set low (2 or 3) the anagrams are very classy. But it's not always possible to produce such results. Useful values are from 2 to 10.

Note, the spelling and capitilisation of the paramaters is important; but the order doesn't matter, and you can leave any of the values empty, and the anagram engine will pick a suitable default value for you. Although it doesn't make much sense to leave the name blank! Construct your link by appending the above parameters onto the link for the anagram engine script at
http://www.easypeasy.com/anagrams/results.php?
and joining them together with the & symbol. e.g
.

make anagrams part of your site: dynamic form + branded results

You can go one step further and co-brand the output of the Anagram Engine so that it looks much more like part of your own website. Once again, you need to provide some parameters to provide the branding, and tyically you'll need to build an input form for your users, rather than using ours. The extra parameters you require are:

parameter how to use it
mysitenme
the name or title of your website e.g. "Bob's Word Fun"
mysiteurl
the web address for your website - either the homepage or where you want users to return to after viewing their anagram results. Use the full URL, but don't include http:// - e.g. www.bobsplace.com/wordfun/
mysitelogo
the web address of the graphic image for your website logo. Please keep the logo to less than 450x100. Again, use the full URL, but don't include http:// - e.g. www.bobsplace.com/boblogo.gif

You'll also need to build an input form for your users to enter their anagrams on your site. Please use the POST method, to prevent ugly URLS.
Here's one to get you started - remember to edit the parameters to suit your site.

and this is how it looks.. it works - try it!

name:
max results:
shortest used word:
must have size:
max words in result:
must use word: exclude?
